Singani Controlled Domain of Origin and Geographical Indication
National Law 1334 establishes the domain of origin and the geographical indication for Singani listing allowed zones
Supreme Decree 24777 establishes enforcement of the DO requirements, both nationally and internationally
Supreme Decree 25569 establishes the "Certificate of Origin" that will accompany Singani products, and establishes the 1,600 meter height characteristic
National Order NB 324001 further defines the process of making and the unique practices that makes something a Singani, it also describes prohibited practices, it re-inforces the altitude requirement of 1,600 meters, and sets standards for labeling:
- name of manufacturer
- alcohol content in Guy Lassac (°GL)
- zone of origin (sub-area of the GI)
- sanitary registration (SENASAG)
- volume
- NIT number
- market (internal or export)
